  • About

There are certainly many vehicles that have not been 100% tested for each of the available attributes on this website. Understand that some of the attributes have been generalized for certain generations of vehicles depending on what that attribute is. For example if automatic crank was found on a 2012 MDX, it is probably safe to say that at a minimum all years going forward of that generation MDX will have automatic crank. Now it may also be safe to assume that years previous to 2012 but still of the same generation MDX likely have automatic crank too.

Data for older vehicles may be limited since they are harder to come by, but will constantly be added to as time goes on.

So please remember that the data provided here for the most part has been verified to the best of my knowledge but you may find contradictions in the data depending on the product being installed or the method of the install of that product. For that very reason, it is important as an industry for you as installers and sales people to submit any vehicle data that is not already on this website or is possibly wrong for some reason.

Just because a vehicle doesn't have a certain attribute listed doesn't mean the attribute doesn't apply. It could simply mean it has not been verified yet.

There is a pretty comprehensive vehicle data submission form on here that will help collect data as accurately as possible. If you believe there is something missing from the data submission form that is imperative to be collected please use the contact form to inform me of such things.

Since this website gets its database from remotelystartedmn.com, understand that it is also biased in the listing of attributes and how they apply to vehicles based on the products being sold on remotelystartedmn.com. The primary brand of remote starts used to collect this data has been Compustar and iDatalink. Other brands of product may have different abilities, so the attributes may not always apply to your vehicle when using other brands.

Remember this website is to be used as a general guide about aspects of vehicles that are time consuming to find or not listed at all anywhere.

1. Your Contact Information
  • Remember my personal info on this browser
2. Vehicle Information
  • If the exact year vehicle is not listed please select the closest year and specify in the comments the exact year.
If this data pertains to a group of years (e.g. 2005-2009) please put the year group in the comments section.

Pulse door to shut off headlights
On vehicles that will automatically shut off the headlights if the switch is left on upon exiting the vehicle, it is necessary to pulse the door pin after shutdown if the customer operates the vehicle in this manner. This method will also shut off Autolights.

Otherwise just like autolights, the headlights will remain on indefinitely until the battery is dead.

Some vehicles will require multiple POCs programmed or a relay used to handle the extra current the circuit needs to trigger.

Vehicles This Applies
Pulse door to shut off Parking Lights
Generally this means that the headlights will shut off automatically with ignition off, but the parking lights will remain on if the door is not opened.

Just like autolights, the parking lights will remain on indefinitely until the battery is dead.

Vehicles This Applies
RAP Shutdown
Needs RAP shutdown.

How did you hear about this website?

Currently the contents of this website are the sole collaboration of data collected by the owner of remotelystartedmn.com. The goal here is to provide data about vehicles that is either in several different places across the web or not listed anywhere. For many years, us as installers/sales people have had to try and remember each detail about each year/make/model of car and all the little variances of them.

Hopefully this website will take away the doubt you have in your mind when trying to tell a customer how certain things will or will not work in their car once a remote start is installed. Many of the vehicle attributes listed are geared towards the sales end of our industry since most of the data that is not listed is data that sales people are asked on a daily basis but have no place to quickly find the answers to those questions.

As this website grows in popularity and more data is provided from fellow installers and sales people across the nation, another goal is to also provide detailed installer notes with tips and tricks on vehicles they have worked on. Currently there are some minor installer notes already included on this website but with time it should hopefully grow into a vast database. So I implore you to try and gather some data about each car you work on and compare it to the listing for that car here on the website. If you have found a piece of info that has not yet been added, please submit a vehicle data form so it can be added for others to benefit from (and you to remember over time too).

Our industry has many areas that we can improve on and I truly believe that customer service is the #1 place to start. By providing your customer with all the information they need to make a sound purchase, you will see the benefits from that 10 fold when they become repeat customers and refer all their friends and family your way.

Remotely Started MN does not choose to work on european vehicles other than the ones listed in the dropdowns. The Remotely Started MN database does have a slightly older list of european vehicles, but it is far from complete or up to date. European vehicles can certainly be added to this website but the data would have to be provided by fellow installers to get it up to date. If there is enough demand for these vehicles and enough data is provided, they will be added for sure.

The current list of european vehicles the database holds can be found under Section 2 of the "Vehicle Data Form" on this page.
